How do orthotics help with pain?

As you may or may not know, proper standing posture is incredibly important for a healthy spine and overall body balance. Your feet affect your entire body. We can’t help the way our feet grow, and it’s most likely not something you think about on a daily basis. If you have uneven feet, it can cause misalignment or added pressure in different parts of your body disrupting its normal balance. Strenuous activity, not using proper form when lifting weights or heavy objects, and improper posture, are all possible causes of low back pain.

What are Orthotics?

Orthotics help with flat feet, those with heel pain, low back and overall body imbalance, they can be generic orthotics for things like flat footedness or leg length discrepancy - or you can go to get orthotics specially made to fit your foot uniquely. Typically orthotics suit people best who do a lot of activity, have got a leg length discrepancy (one leg longer than the other) or suffer with foot pain consistently. If you are ever unsure, then be sure to speak to your chiropractor or sports therapist who will be able to assess you properly.
