The importance of keeping an eye on your wellness
There was a time when you thought nothing of playing a game of football, going for a run a simple gym workout. Now, even a slightly longer walk than usual is causing you pain or breathlessness, then you are not alone. It is easy to overlook fitness and heath as we get older and our daily routines are more work work, work and less physically active, along side this we get used to the pain and niggles we compensate for each day.
In the UK we tend to only investigate our health and wellness when something goes wrong, or we become unwell. By the time we develop symptoms, our health is already compromised. Having a health screen has many benefits, including prevention and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
We routinely attend dental and eye appointments, but we underestimate the importance of a general check up for our overall health. A wellness check up is a great way to look at several different aspects of health, for example:
· Identifying early health risk
· Identifying early injury risk
· BMI
· Muscle flexibility
· Strength testing
· Blood pressure
· Postural problems
· Balance and proprioception
· Functional movement screening
· Identifying lifestyle changes
A regular full body Wellness Check is a great way to put you back in charge of your fitness and health. They help to explore the answers to any niggling worries, they give you peace of mind, and will also help prompt you into making early and preventative lifestyle changes to enhance your health.
