5 habits to beat the Monday Blues

Before we know it Monday has rolled back round again and we are faced with a week ahead of work, stress, life admin, and all the other things that we try and cram into the week. It’s no surprise that Monday Blues are a real thing!

Here are 5 different ways that can help to manage the stress of the week ahead:

  • PLAN ON FRIDAY

Sounds obvious, but making a day by day plan of the week can be a really good way to get ahead and know how to manage your time effectively. However, planning on Sunday is not really a nice relaxing day off activity, so try to plan on Friday for the week following instead. Then on Monday morning, review it and make changes as appropriate.

  • SCHEDULE FUN THINGS

Make sure to balance your busy time with nice activities - this could be anything from a nice walk outside, to a film, or coffee and a cake with a friend. Try to schedule these things in to balance out the more stressful times.

  • MAKE YOURSELF A PRIORITY

Eat well and move lots - if you restrict yourself from doing these things just simply to ‘get more work done’ you’re actually doing yourself more harm than good. Not only will your productivity be lower, but you’re more likely to suffer from lifestyle diseases and thing such as lower back pain. Also booking in your adjustment or massage is a good way to look after yourself and make yourself a priority.

  • WORK SMART

Don’t waste time on activities that are either not going to give you much back, or endlessly do something that could be done a quicker way. This way you save time and get things done much more efficiently!

  • TALK TO SOMEONE

If you’re feeling blue, there is no harm in saying to someone ‘I feel a bit down today’. Sharing how you feel is so important for managing stress. Often a friend or family member is enough, but therapists are also amazing to speak to if you feel you need further help.

As mentioned above, we believe you should make yourself a priority. If you need to book in an adjustment or massage then give us a call on 01202 604707 :-)
